We measure the median unit price (per litre, kilo or piece) of our benchmark basket (97 products) daily across all supermarkets we track — see our methodology.
A fixed selection of everyday groceries. The composition never changes — so price developments are fairly comparable over time.

Price is the median unit price of the cheapest comparable match per product — only days with ≥80% coverage are included.
Unit price, not pack price. Every price is first normalised to price per litre, kilo or piece, so a 3-litre bottle of detergent and a half-litre bottle compare fairly.
Verified matches only. A product only counts when the match is reliable: sufficient name similarity, a readable pack size, and a unit price within 3× the median of the other supermarkets. Doubtful cases are dropped — no data point beats a distorted one.
Median, not mean. The chart shows the basket median, so one extreme product cannot drag the picture.
80% coverage threshold. A supermarket only gets a data point on days when at least 80% of the benchmark basket matched verifiably; otherwise the line breaks rather than guessing.
This makes our measurement fairer than a yearly sample: we measure every day, with a fixed basket, and only show what we can substantiate. Prices remain indicative — and we say so.
